Even More Progress at Diesel Way, Nanaimo

Work continues to move along at Island Diesel Way in Nanaimo, with steady progress taking place across both buildings throughout August.

Here’s a look at what’s been happening on site this month.

Building A

Building A has continued to make progress as the project moves into more of the building’s finishing and mechanical work.

Throughout August, crews have been working on:

  • Metal building finishing, including miscellaneous metal installations and flashing
  • Plumbing rough-ins for the main roof drainage system
  • Under-slab sanitary sewer work and backfilling
  • Canopy roof parapet framing
  • Targeted electrical rough-ins
  • Receiving materials for the upcoming roofing work

The roof drainage and electrical systems are now progressing, while roofing materials have arrived on site to support the next stage of construction.

Building B

There has also been plenty happening at Building B as the foundation work continues to take shape.

August work included:

  • Foundation formwork and rebar installation
  • Foundation concrete pours
  • Continued foundation excavation
  • Damp-proofing and wall insulation
  • Perimeter drainage installation and inspections
  • Targeted excavation and backfilling around the foundation

With the foundation work progressing, the focus is now shifting toward drainage, waterproofing, and preparing the building for the next stages of construction.

Site Access Updates

As construction progresses, site access has also been adjusted to accommodate the ongoing work. Access is being relocated toward the centre of the designed driveway, providing a better setup as work continues across the site.
